Nothing to do on Sunday afternoon?

Why not come along to the La Mama Courthouse Theatre at 349 Faraday St, Carlton (just near Elgin St) for some fun theatre?

Melbourne Writers Theatre will be presenting its Monologue Night from 4pm-8pm on Sunday November 25 – including two of mine!

One monologue, called For When She Comes, is from a full-length play about surrogacy that I am now working on.

The other, titled Advice to Young Lovers on Valentine’s Day, is a stand-alone piece. It was adapted for theatre from a story I wrote for the ABC Radio National program Life Matters some years ago.

Other writers included in the program are:

Carmen Saarelaht
James May
Gaylebe Carbis
Didem Caia
Bruce Shearer

The monologues presented will range from two minutes to 20 minutes. Entry is only $5 and drink and nibbles will be available.

If you are new to theatre this the perfect introduction, sampling a range of short pieces.

If you are a theatre lover, this is a good way to learn about new writers and works in progress while enjoying a great night out.

If you are an actor, welcome – we may need you.  If you are interested in getting involved on the night, please email Christine at melbournewriterstheatre@gmail.com.

And if, like me, you are a writer, come along and meet some fellow scribes.

Parking is available in the Safeway carpark a few doors down.
